Did my Dad tell me these things to cause me pain or suffering?  Did he tell me to keep me from having fun? Of course not!!! He warned me because he truly loved me and because he wanted to protect me from the dangers hidden in this world.  

Once I was warned, it was entirely up to me to decide what I would do with it. Would I "hear" his warning? Or would I choose to shrug it off? The decision was totally up to me, and me alone, and so were the consequences! There was no one else to blame if I made the wrong decision.  

I have to thank my Heavenly Father for giving me enough common sense to "see" that what my Dad was telling me, was for my "own" good....and that he wasn't trying to rob me of anything.  Drawing from his past experiences, my Dad knew far more about the "real" world than I did...and because I was obedient (most of the time!) I was able to save myself a lot of pain and suffering!  

Recently, I've started reading a wonderful book, one that I had started reading a long time ago, but never could really get "into" before. But now, I've become so consumed with it, that I have trouble putting it down!  

This book is a beautiful love story about a father and his love for his children. It speaks of his desire to be with his children more, but they just don't seem to have time for him anymore.  It also tells about the pain that he suffers when his children go astray. With patience and longsuffering he waits for them to cry out to him for his help. He wants so much to protect them, but he will not force them to do anything that they don't want to do....even though he knows that they are heading for deep trouble. 

This book tells how this loving father tried to teach his children by giving them guidelines and warnings about the dangers that are hidden in this world. If only they would heed his warnings, they could be saved so much pain and suffering. He, like my Dad, didn't want to rob his children of anything....he only wanted to love and protect them. 

The name of the book, in case you may be interested in reading it, is "The Holy Bible" and the author is God, who is like a father to us.

God loves you and me, and He has created each of us with a "free will". He has also given us a mind of our own, so that we are capable of thinking things out before we make a choice to do something. Along with these, He has given us some very important guidelines to help us with these choices.

We are free to choose either to follow these guidelines, or we can choose to follow our own desires which may lead to a lot of pain and suffering for both us, and for those around us....the choice is always ours to make!

Yes, God even allowed those, who made the terrible choice to follow their own desires on September 11, 2001, a "free will". What a horrible choice they made, and look at how many people have suffered from their choice. If only they would have read, for themselves, some very important guidelines that God has given to His children.

If only they had known the following guidelines that God has given to help us remain civil to one another....no one, would have had to needlessly suffer and die on that horrific day:

• God teaches us to always sanctify life...life is very precious to Him! We are NEVER to offer a human sacrifice...these misled terroists gave up their lives for....NOTHING!
• God also teaches us NEVER to shed innocent blood! Again...life is very precious to Him. Any one who chooses to take the life of one of His innocent children WILL be held accountable before Him!

Yes, it's very true that our Heavenly Father gives each of us a "free will"....we have the freedom to do either "good" or "evil"....it's our choice. But with this freedom....also comes consequences.

I pray that you will choose to follow your Heavenly Father's Guidelines, and do what is "good" and "pleasing" to Him! If you do, you and those around you, will be glad you did!
